Henson Law Firm's only office is at 401 S. Boston Ave., Suite 500, in downtown Tulsa. Municipal Courts

Rob also represents clients in Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Owasso, and Glenpool Municipal Courts. Municipal courts are city courts that handle violations of city ordinances, including many traffic and misdemeanor matters, and they are separate from the Oklahoma district courts serving the surrounding counties.

That distinction can matter even when two courts are only a short distance apart. A charge filed in Tulsa Municipal Court, for example, is not the same case as a charge filed in Tulsa County District Court, and the court shown on the citation or charging paperwork determines which court system is handling the matter.

Criminal Defense in Cherokee Nation and Muscogee (Creek) Nation Courts

Rob Henson is also admitted to practice in the Cherokee Nation District Court and the Muscogee (Creek) Nation District Court. Criminal matters in those courts proceed in separate court systems and can involve jurisdictional questions that do not arise in an ordinary Oklahoma district court or municipal court prosecution.

Determining the correct court is not always as simple as looking at where an arrest occurred or whether someone is a tribal citizen. The facts of the case and the law governing jurisdiction must be considered, which is why tribal criminal matters should be evaluated based on the particular court and circumstances involved.

Do I Have to Come to Tulsa to Hire Henson Law Firm?
